A Window Into The Arts and Judaic Education
“And above all, remember that the meaning of life is
to build a life as if it were a work of art.”

MY VOICE MY JEWISH LENS
AT THE TORONTO HESCHEL SCHOOL
My Voice My Jewish Lens is an elaboration on the six bi-weekly My Voice My Lens workshop series, designed to integrate the Art of Self-Portrait Photography with Judaic Text Learning and Jewish Education. As an innovative collaboration between Judith Leitner, The Toronto Heschel School, and The Lola Stein Performance and Learning Studio Teacher Certification Programme for Integrated Jewish Learning, our shared purpose is to creatively engage with the essential question: ”Who am I: as a Jewish educator, leader, teammate, mentor, friend, lifetime learner?”

“My work has been to focus on exploring and revealing the emotional human experience of different texts of study. What surprised me the most about this process was the emotional connection I had to the meaning behind my self-portraits. I hope my portrayal of these texts and images touches the viewer - as it turns their experience from an observer to an experiencer.”
